Modern Edwardian
Toronto, ON
When designing this front garden, it was essential to pay tribute to the home’s Edwardian architecture. This style called for layered, romantic plantings, a balance of formal structure and natural beauty, and a marked contrast between lush foliage and groomed evergreens. To achieve this, 'Sweet Summer' hydrangea, 'Ice Cream' astilbe, and 'Evening Gown' coral bell were selected, while the existing evergreens were pruned and the hostas repurposed into the design. The result is a garden that complements the home’s architecture, offering a tranquil, timeless quality with visual interest throughout the seasons.
